    Question

    I just bought a 814E. The large knob labeled: open,2,4,close,stop, does not turn. What does this control? Doesn't seem to be metering. Thank You.

    That's controlling the variable shutter.
    open, 1/2, 1/4, Closed.

    It probably won't turn because it's locked. It controls your aperture for fades, etc.

    On top of that dial is an arrow switch. Slide it to the left to unlock it.
